      Iowa bishops urge Catholics to inform their consciences and get involved in the political process
      In the document the Iowa bishops say, “Human life should be protected from conception until natural death as a basic requirement of a just and moral society … We won’t tell you who to vote for, but we will tell you to vote.” The bishops also encourage parishioners to participate in the “Civilize It” campaign. The purpose is to invite Catholics to model civility, love for neighbor, and respectful dialogue. The Iowa Catholic Conference is the public policy agency of the Catholic Church in Iowa. Its Board of Directors includes the Catholic bishops of Iowa and lay people, priests, deacons and religious sisters. The diocesan bishops of Iowa are Archbishop Michael Jackels of Dubuque; Bishop R.
