The Catholic Food Pantry began operation in 2004. It was first located in the old Holy Rosary School, and had seven volunteers. It is now located in Corpus Christi Center and has fifteen active volunteers. During the last fiscal year, 2019, the pantry served 2,053 households. In the first quarter of this year, 2020, we have served 1519 individuals.
The pantry is supported by generous gifts of food, household supplies and cash donation from Holy Trinity parishioners. With the cash donation they receive they are able to participate in low-cost shopping at the Food Bank of Iowa.
Deacon Rick Salocker and Mary Lou Kirby serve as the coordinators of the Catholic Food Pantry.
Hours of operation are Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
