Dear Parents and Guardians,
Below is information regarding the celebration of your child's First Reconciliation and Eucharist. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions!

Please do the following by September 30th, 2024
1) Please register by going to www.holytrinitywci.org, Those students who attend one of the public schools in the county or are homeschooled please click on "Faith Formation Registration" and then follow the instructions. For those students who attend St. Edmond, go under links on the parish website homepage and choose "St. Edmond Sacramental Preparation Registration" and then follow the instructions from there.
2) If your child was baptized at a parish other than Holy Trinity Catholic Parish we will need a copy of your child's baptismal certificate no later than September 30, 2024. Without the certificate we are unable to celebrate either sacrament: First Reconciliation and/or First Eucharist.
3) Please go to www.holytrinitywci.formed.org and register yourself for this free resource that we will be utilizing for sacramental preparation. FORMED is a free resource that we will be using for not only the children, but the adult sessions as well.
4) If you aren't already signed up for our parish flocknote please click the link below to do so before our first parent meeting in the fall. Once you have signed up with Holy Trinity Parish please join the group '2024-25 First Sacraments'. I will be using flocknote throughout the year to share more information about the celebration of these sacraments.

First Reconciliation:
First Reconciliation will occur as a part of the First Eucharist Retreat which will take place the Saturday before First Eucharist Mass.
First Eucharist Retreat:
Those children, and their parents/guardians, who have been prepared and seeking to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are expected to attend a small retreat. During this time the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated for all in attendance, we will also walk through the Mass for the next day and participate in hands on activities to help us prepare for the great gift we will be receiving the following afternoon. More details about the First Eucharist retreat will come at a later date.

Below you will find a document that reviews appropriate attire for the celebration of this sacrament.
Below under "Documents" you can also find a guide sheet for each month's Lectio Divina scripture and how to pray this with your child. I highly encourage parents to take the time to meditate and pray with your child(ren) on these verses and fill out the sheet to turn in to your teacher at the end of each month .
Please also work with your child(ren) throughout the year to practice and prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and reception of the Eucharist, “how to” guide and other resources are listed below.
