The reason Maureen and I agreed to help chair the capital campaign is because we feel with the changing demographics, the shortage of priests and the condition of our churches, it was vital to make this change before it is too late.
We feel with the closing of some churches, and moving others to oratory status, there are many of our Holy Trinity parishioners looking for a church to call home. We feel this will be it.
We also feel it is something we need to do for the generations to follow. Someone did it for us. Maureen and I both come from strong, faith-filled families and feel this is the right decision, to pass on to our children and grandchildren the strong faith that our parents and grandparents passed on to us.
If we had to sum up in one sentence why we are helping chair the campaign, the answer would be: BECAUSE IT’S JUST THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
