The question of deciding which Stations of the Cross would go into the new church has come up several times as I've spoke to parishioners these past few weeks, and yesterday we received it on-line!
First, the ceiling space on the outer aisles of the new church are substantially lower than the the rest of the main church. Second, the Stations of the Cross at Sacred Heart Church, which are the ones many ask about, would not fit the space well. The Sacred Heart Church Stations would project too far out into the aisles.
The Stations of the Cross from Corpus Christi Church, in constrast with the ones from Sacred Heart Church which are plaster, are hand carved; hand painted works fashioned in Oberammergau, Germany. Their size, coloring and artistic components will fit well with the new church, along with the size for the space they will be in.
While it is hard to imagine what it will look like at this point, once one see's the Corpus Christi Church Stations in the new church with the lighting, we believe you'll agree with the decision on which stations to utilize.
