We have an excellent program at Holy Trinity Parish called the St. Joseph the Worker Club. Basically, the members of the club will do handyman types of jobs for the elderly of our parish as requested by them. The types of jobs they will do may include fixing door handles, changing light bulbs, moving furniture, hanging pictures, and that type of thing. It involves no electrical or plumbing work, and no snow shoveling or lawn raking. Certainly, no pay is expected or accepted by the workers, but the person receiving the services will have the opportunity to make a free will offering to the parish for the work and the expenses associated with the work, if any.
The St. Joseph the Worker Club was established as a way for the younger members of our parish to give back to the elderly members as a form of thanks for everything they have done for our generation, and to assist them in helping do small things they cannot do for themselves. As St. Joseph did the will of God, the workers of St. Joseph the Worker Club also will be willingly serving the Lord.
For those of you wanting to request services, simply call our Christian Service Coordinator, Joyce Lennon, in the parish office, 955-6077, and she will make the arrangements.
We are always looking for more volunteers to be workers in the club! It will not involve a great amount of your time, and our current members will vouch for the fact that helping our elderly provides great satisfaction and enjoyment. For more information or to volunteer your services as a worker, please contact Denny Stucky at [email protected] or Jason Slinker at [email protected].
